I remember when we walked into the room like nothing happened; though we were late by the long visit to a movie.
I remember when we laughed. At ourselves
And the moment I most remember is when we never talked about our gap of ages. Which was... every damn time.
The moment when we discussed one damn thing like we all grew up with it. Sometimes I DID not know what you were talking about. And HE didn't either. But you would elaborate it enthusiastically like it was a vintage thing we all should know about.
In fact, I just remember, just really now, that we ARE coming from different eras, aren't we? But what were those moments if they weren't blessings? What was last night if it wasn't a hangout of friends? Just, FRIENDS.
We wouldn't care if he and I are 23 and you guys are 30-something. We wouldn't care if he and I are fresh-grads (that's if you would consider graduating college 2 years ago as "fresh"). We wouldn't care if one of you are well-experienced and the other one of you are professional.
We always come into one as FRIENDS.
No, I revise:
BESTfriends.
I remember when we spent the whole weekend together. Or the whole midweek, together. And NOT talking about work. How could we possibly do it, I don't understand either.
Some people, however, are obsessed with numbers. They love to compare my age to theirs, my birth-year to theirs, my experience years to theirs, my middle school eras to their college decades, maybe even the number of guys I've dated to the number of guys they've dated.
While we all know that they are just as old as you are. As "well"-experienced as you are. That leads me to no clue of the reason why they love to sit in the upper stair and looking me down; when you could embrace me like we sit in the same old couch.
We, on the other floor, have broken the steps of the ladder and stood on the flat stage. Nobody's upstairs; because the stairs never exist in the first place.
We, are friends, and friends don't differentiate. We equate.
And I love us for that. I love you all, for that.
Wish another one-happy-evening of our own would arrive again anytime soon. Miss you guys already
